Exerhoop Weighted Exercise Hoops:

We recommend a hoop that you can comfortably maintain the hooping rotation for a minimum of 10 minutes.  These larger heavier hoops rotate more slowly and are easier to learn to maintain the hoop rotation. 

Exerhoop exercise hoops are approx 93cm (36") dia and 450gm weight.

     The benefit of this larger hoop is that you can vary the intensity of your  hooping from faster to slower.

     If you are a beginner, or would prefer learning at a slower rate, or are considerably overweight you will do better to start with the larger hoop, so that you can experience immediate success, which will encourage you to continue to work out with the hoop.

Many people believe that the more weight you want to loose the heavier the hoop you need to buy.


     Regardless of the type of exercise you are doing you lose weight by using oxygen, getting your heart rate up and burning calories! 

     Through experience we believe our hoops are the ideal size and weight to trim inches off your waist and for overall fitness. We also don't recommend hoops with gimmicky waves, magnets, etc., as they almost always will produce bruises and are usually heavier than they need to be.

Want to begin adding some variety to your hooping by getting into Dance hooping? 

     Our smaller lighter hula hoop is ideal for learning and performing hoop dance routines and all those cool moves you see experienced hoopers having so much fun

   Exerhoop Dance or Performance Hoops: 


     Exerhoop Dance and Performance Hoops are ideal for the individual who wants more variety and more challenge in their hooping routine, or intermediate and experienced hoopers. 

These hoops are designed for faster paced workout, dance, tricks and off body moves that require the hoop to be lighter and rotate at a quicker rate. 

    Exerhoop dance and Performance hoops are approx 86cm (33") dia and 300gm weight and are designed to give a bit more of a challenge to your hooping routine.

    Many more experienced hoopers select these smaller hoops as their preferred performance hoop.

    Benefits of the lighter hoops are that they more quickly raise your heart rate and, frankly, do not hurt as much when you smack yourself in the shin or head practicing some of the fun moves involved in hoop dancing.

Mini hoops The latest must have hoops! 

Exerhoop Twin or Dance/Trick Hoops: 


   The Mini's, as they are called, are two small matching hoops, sold in pairs that should be ideal for all body types and experience levels to spin over your hands, while moving your arms and maintaining a Dance Hoop spinning.

 This is a great upper body workout and a perfect compliment to hooping. Exerhoop Mini hoops come in pairs and are light weight hoops; approx 59cm (23") and weigh approx 220gms each,

and used in off body hand moves which not only tone arms and upper body, but create beautiful, visual poi like dance moves to your hooping workout.


   Exerhoop Children's Hoops:

   Although we do have children as young as 5 or 6 years successfully hooping with our larger exercise hoops, we do manufacture a smaller hoop as more suitable for Children

so they have greater control over the hoop, it has less weight so when they inevitably get hit by it , it doesn't hurt the same.

   The Technical Stuff:

   Unfortunately Hoop swing is all about Physics - that boring topic we liked so much at school!!!

   Gravity and the effect it has on Mass plus Friction is what makes a hoop work. 

   The heavier the hoop the greater the effect of Gravity and it falls down.

   The lighter the hoop the less Mass it has and it does not spin well.

The smaller diameter, the greater friction area on your body the more it slows down and conversely the larger the diameter of the hoop the less friction area it has on your body the less power you can apply and it falls down.

   For beginners and for exercise there is an optimum design size & weight for the hoop to be effective and Exerhoop Exercise Hulahoops are hand crafted to this optimum formulae.

   Hoops sold in stores often have a diameter smaller than 75cm dia

and are very light.

That is far too light and small for an adult to spin.

Most adults can spin a hoop with a 90cm diameter easily.

Exerhoop Hula-Hoops are designed specifically for adults, although we do have children as young a 5 & 6 years old successfully swinging our hoops - see the Photo Gallery

   The friction of the hoop against your body fights the force of gravity to keep the hoop in the air.

The tape helps increase the friction. Faster spinning is needed to keep a smaller hoop in contact with your body, your new larger Exerhoop Hula-Hoop can spin more slowly and still stay in the air.

   You may not be able to defy gravity with your Exerhoop Hula-Hoop for long on your first few tries, but the more you practice, the better you will get.

Soon, you will be shaping your waist, hips and thighs and strengthening your core with a calorie burning workout that is a whole lot of fun.
